It’s Baaaaack.
The Strategic Protocol Motorsport Shelbourne F2 is up for sale. It came to use after a full rebuild by Fran Hall of Superlite Cars of Fraser, Michigan. During the build:
the fuel tank was cleaned and the entire fuel system was built with an external pump and regulator.Left-foot shift conversion.Front brake is currently separate from the rear/chair, using a 19mm Brembo master cylinder.2005 Suzuki GSX-R1000 power. Two full seasons previously before installing in this outfit. Compression showed 160psi across. Transmission was recently replaced.
In June, 2016 we attended the 2016 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, which the outfit won and set the all-time record for the sidecar class.
The bike has placed 1st or 2nd in each of the races we’ve entered in 2016-2017. In 2015 we were off the podium in our first race, then took a double win followed by two solid 2nd place finishes with a first-time passenger. It won the 2018 SRA-West championship, using six different passengers.
The machine is fun, fast, and stable. It is chair-flat in lefts, does not bump-steer on the brakes, and the heavy-ish steering does not require a damper. The only thing it needs to be race-ready is a new rear tire and an oil change.
