Shelbounre sidecar racer

Strategic Protocol Motorsport competes using a mid-1990’s design Formula 2 chassis. Originally built by Shelbourne in Ireland, the outfit came with a 1990’s era 600cc Yamaha engine.

Since engine size limits are larger on the west coast of the United States, the bike was outfitted with a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 engine by Fran Hall of Superlite Cars and Race Car Replicas. With a custom radiator and exhaust system, the engine output is just shy of 175hp. Tires on all three corners are Avon racing slicks purchased at Roger Kraus Racing .

With the excellent build quality of the original Shelbourne chassis, combined with the custom fabrication from Superlite Cars, the race bike has already shown itself capable of winning races. In June 2016, we won the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, taking the sidecar division record.
