Road Trip Or Pre-Trip..? the story so far

Don't ask me, man... I just work here. There is little to update, as the last week has just been a long interstate burn. 500-mile days for three days straight, then hanging out on a cot recovering. I'm at the jump-off point of my 2024 road trip, even though I put about 2,500 miles on … Continue reading Road Trip Or Pre-Trip..? the story so far

Back on The Road

Excited and tired at the same time. That's the best way to describe my first week on the road. I'm not sure this part can truly qualify as a road trip, since I'm trying to get to the "start" in Maine as quickly as possible, so I've been mobbing up the interstate and putting in … Continue reading Back on The Road

The Internet Lament: Is This Really Who We Want To Be?

Look, we can't really blame the internet for our problems. By design, it is a bunch of programming designed to provide us with information. Whether a website, search engine, database, or some hellscape like Tik Tok, the internet is trying to connect us to the information we are seeking. The unintended consequences are many, but … Continue reading The Internet Lament: Is This Really Who We Want To Be?

Backtracking

"...Each day is a question mark. Sometimes we can turn that into an exclamation point, other days we just make it a comma. One day it will be a period: full stop. Until then I just keep looking at the blank pages and try to fill them with something useful, because every time I let the malaise take hold, the pages keep turning, even though they are blank."

Open Letter: Bimota Should Build an Anthony Gobert Edition Motorcycle

Consider this an open letter to anyone affiliated with Kawasaki, Bimota, or World Superbike (WSBK). The thrust of my intention is to remind the world at large of Anthony Gobert's achievements for Bimota, and to suggest Bimota use their re-entry into WSBK as a perfect opportunity to not only create a new Gobert-edition motorcycle for sale to the public, but to use the opportunity to help addicts in recovery at the same time. Let me explain...

Thoughts About Roads

Roads are a world-changing technology that we humans take entirely for granted. The world shrinks because of them, but it's hard to see without close inspection. We don’t really notice their impact because they have been around long before we were born and have already shaped so much of our societies and world views. You … Continue reading Thoughts About Roads

Remembering Louis Gossett Jr.

Considering the amount of work Louis Gossett Jr did in film I suppose there are a dozen different things to remember him for. He did a solid job as Chappy Sinclair in "Iron Eagle," which got a 2nd and 3rd movie made despite the whole thing being a bit silly. He is likely best know … Continue reading Remembering Louis Gossett Jr.

A Winter Earned, A Summer’s Call

It's a strange thing when nothing material in your life has changed, but your perspective has. I like someone's example of being pulled over by the police on your way to work, but the officer decides not to give you a ticket. You feel like you had a stroke of luck, but you were driving … Continue reading A Winter Earned, A Summer’s Call
