Photography

As journalism moves online and online journalism moves toward photo essays, I’ve beefed up my camera skills to meet demand. In the current landscape it feels like both writing and photography will be “dead arts” in another decade or so, as A.I. tries to automate the tasks and many people’s taste leans toward video (though we can all see the decline in quality of videos as well).

I’m still able to operate cameras in manual mode though, and understand fundamentals like composition and subjective understanding — things an algorithm can critique or imitate, but can’t truly create. A skilled photographer makes the biggest difference in dynamic scenes, which is where I offer my services.

Low light conditions like concerts, fast-paced scenes like sports, and being embedded with adventurers to document their trials without interfering are specialties. Taking pictures is only one part of being a photographer.

Curated Works

I have created a gallery of compositions to showcase my style and ability. Please feel free to look through it and contact me about any photography projects you would like to collaborate on. Although my experience is primarily in action-sport, outdoor, and travel photography, it continues to expand.

If you need photography or photo-editing done, please contact me.
