I have seen the schedule for this year and it is almost entirely at the Willow Springs Raceway, with some races in Portland, and of course the big races in Utah at Miller Motorsports Park.
I have lined up a Formula 2 bike formerly piloted by Roy James. It has a Windle chasis, but has an almost antique 1995 Suzuki GSX-R750 engine. This leaves us at a serious disadvantage on the Big Willow Springs race track, which favors horsepower. It will still be a great opportunity though, as I am preparing to purchase this exact bike and update it with a modern engine. The coming race in March will really be a chance to shake the bike down and see what else will need improved or updated, as well as allowing my passenger Vanessa McClure to size up the location of the hand holds, which is a decisive factor in how well a sidecar “fits” a passenger.
Our first race is March 14-15 at Willow Springs. If you can make it out, please do. We always appreciate the support, and the SRA looks forward to an entertaining and exciting 2009!
